Colleen

Colleen boasts an impressive 24-year career in the beauty industry, with a substantial 15 of those years dedicated to her craft with Aveda. Her commitment to professional growth is evident in her pursuit of knowledge, which includes taking courses at the Aveda Institute in Las Vegas and engaging in in-person continuing education sessions with industry experts like Ian Michael Black, Geno Chapman, Jeffery Scott, Susan Ford, and Dusty Rhode.

On a personal note, Colleen is a devoted mother to her son Louis and is deeply passionate about working with and supporting underserved communities in Rochester. Beyond her role as a hairstylist, Colleen's favorite color is lime green, and she harbors a fascinating alternate career aspiration as a paramedic.

Colleen's journey into the world of beauty was inspired by family traditions. Every Friday, her family would gather for a fish fry, and it was during these post-meal moments that her talent for hairstyling began to emerge. Remarkably, at the tender age of 3, Colleen would style her grandmother's hair, sparking a lifelong passion for the beauty industry.

What Colleen finds most exhilarating about her profession is the ever-changing nature of her work. She relishes the fact that no two days are alike in her line of work. Her career enables her to connect with a diverse array of people, allowing her to create, engage, and build meaningful relationships, making her job a truly unique and fulfilling experience.
